Toowoomba

The Toowoomba office of our specialist family law firm was opened in March 2008 so that we could more effectively service the needs of the Toowoomba and surrounding Darling Downs region in relation to family and de facto law needs.

Toowoomba is the third office to be opened by Hartley Healy, which also has family law specialist offices situated in Brisbane, the head office, and Southport on the Gold Coast. It is the vision of Hartley Healy to become Queensland 's most desirable Family Law firm for clients, staff and the community to be associated with. The opening of an office to service the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region was the next step in reaching this objective.

The Toowoomba office is headed up by Associate and Accredited Family Law Specialist, Mr Richard Mahler. Richard commenced his legal career with a top-tier national Corporate Law firm in Brisbane for several years before moving to Toowoomba with his family in June 2004 to specialise in Family Law.

At Hartley Healy, we encourage a strong and cohesive work environment. This means that regardless of which office our solicitors work from, they have the benefit of utilising the knowledge and skills of the solicitors in our other offices regarding complex and tactical issues that may arise in particular matters.

The Toowoomba and Darling Downs region

Hartley Healy's Toowoomba office services the entire Toowoomba and Darling Downs region, including the following areas:

The Old Tafe College

The Hartley Healy Toowoomba office is located at the Old Tafe College 124 Margaret Street Toowoomba. There is ample parking for clients at the rear of the building which is accessed from Hume Street.

The Old Tafe College was constructed between 1910 and 1911 as a technical college and functioned as this and the Toowoomba High School for 40 years from 1919. Mr Alexander Mayers, a Mayor of Toowoomba four times between 1896 and 1917, was responsible for the construction of the building and is also credited with the construction of Toowoomba's present day Town Hall. The wing that is now seen along Hume Street was constructed in 1939. This was good timing, as it was used during WWII to provide classes for soldiers. During this time, trenches were also dug for college staff and students to shelter in across the road in Queens Park . Picturesque Queens Park still offers a serene outlook for the building.

More recently, the building has been beautifully renovated and restored to its former glory by Ms Maria Vasas who has converted the building into commercial office suites.
