Hartley Healy are extremely proud of and excited for two of our team members; Kylie Chesterman and Gabrielle Baker who will taking on a 22.5km hike this Saturday, 1st of August to help raise money for the McGrath Foundation.
The hike has been organised by Ken Baker who went through treatment this year after being diagnosed in January with Breast Cancer. After receiving support from a local Breast Care Nurse at St Andrews Hospital he decided to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation.
Ken's friend Bruce Barker runs outdoor activities company Executive Excellence Events and organised the "Do a Hike" Challenge to help promote awareness of male breast cancer and raise funds for McGrath Breast Care Nurses`around Australia.
The team were hoping to raise $30,000 for the hike, but to date they have blown that out of the water and raised a staggering $40,222.75 - this is the most amount of money raised for the McGrath Foundation outside of events organised by the Foundation itself.
We are extremely proud that our girls are taking part and raising funds for such a worthwhile cause. We wish them all the luck for the walk and look forward to seeing some photos.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, please head to the "Do a Hike" website.
The McGrath Foundation is an amazing charity that raises money to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, as well as increasing breast awareness in young Australian women.
