On October 23rd 2014 Queensland Law Society (QLS) held a Masterclass covering Complex Family Law Orders aimed at experienced Family Law Practitioners. The masterclass was structured to provide these practitioners with guidance when drafting orders in complex property matters.
Two of our Senior Associates Debra Effeney and Tarah Tosh; both Accredited Specialists (Family Law); were invited, as well respected Family Law Practitioners to present at this Masterclass.
Their presentation entitled 'Beware of Stamp Duty and Taxation Risks' identified some taxation and stamp duty risks to be aware of when drafting property orders/agreements in complex family law matters.
The Queensland Law Society has confirmed that all of the anecdotal feedback from the presentation was very positive:
Letter to the chair of the Masterclass:
Just wanted to thank you for the CPD conference today – you ladies were a great team. I found it to be excellent, and appreciated you all sharing your knowledge. Could you do me a favour and pass my compliments to the other ladies?
Letter from Attendee:
Good afternoon Debra and Tarah,
I just wanted to commend you both for a great presentation regarding tax and stamp duty issues at yesterday’s Masterclass – very thorough, well prepared and a good timely reminder!
